The Emory Initiative for Arts and Humanistic Inquiry, launched in Fall 2023, enhances Emory University’s commitment to liberal arts by addressing critical societal questions amidst rapid global changes. The initiative plans to hire up to 30 new faculty members across five schools over the next three to four years, fostering collaboration and innovation in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. This effort aims to deepen understanding and expressive forms concerning humanity’s future amidst climatic, societal, and technological upheavals. Emory College, Oxford College, Candler School of Theology, Emory School of Law, and Goizueta Business School are among the participating institutions, each integrating the initiative into their distinct missions to boost interdisciplinary research and education. The Office of the Provost has also announced funding opportunities to support creative programming locally and globally.
